Khon Kaen University’s Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN (IRDTP for ASEAN) has partnered with Southwest University in China to launch a professional development program aimed at preparing educators for future technologies. The initiative seeks to enhance the skills of teachers for the digital age and foster international academic cooperation between the two nations.

The Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN (IRDTP) at Khon Kaen University has successfully secured a significant grant from the Fundamental Fund for the 2026 fiscal year. The funding was awarded by Thailand's Science, Research and Innovation Promotion Fund.

Khon Kaen University (KKU), through its Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN (IRDTP), has kicked off the first phase of its fifth annual professional development program for educators. The event, held online via Zoom from September 27-28, is a collaborative effort with the Teachers' Council of Thailand and Japan's National Institute for School Teachers and Staff Development (NITS).

Khon Kaen University, through the Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN, participated in The 10th UNESCO UNITWIN International Conference on Quality Teacher Education, held from August 4–6, 2025, at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Indonesia. The conference was organized under the theme: “The Roles of Teacher Education in Preparing Teachers’ Competencies to Teach Sustainability Issues.”

Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University organized an international expert workshop from September 2 to 4, 2025. The event brought together distinguished academics in mathematics education from various countries to share expertise and elevate the quality of teaching and learning.

Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University is expanding its educational collaboration with Japan's University of Tsukuba, fostering international relations through a new student exchange program.

Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University is facilitating a cultural exchange program between faculty and students from Khon Kaen University and Toho University, Japan. The program, which includes both online and in-person activities, is scheduled to run from August 14 to September 2, 2025.

On July 4, 2025, Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN (IRDTP), Khon Kaen University, held the opening ceremony for the 2025 KNUE-KKU UNITWIN Teacher Training Program for Quality Teacher Education under the theme "AI for Teachers: Transforming Classrooms for the Future."
