IRDTP KKU Hosts International Workshop to Enhance Mathematics Education.

Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University organized an international expert workshop from September 2 to 4, 2025. The event brought together distinguished academics in mathematics education from various countries to share expertise and elevate the quality of teaching and learning.

On September 2, 2025, a workshop on Unplugged Computational Thinking was held for 205 undergraduate and postgraduate students from Khon Kaen University's Faculty of Education. The session was led by Professor Dr. Roberto Araya from the University of Chile and Assistant Professor Dr. Narumon Changsri, Assistant Director of Research and Innovation Development at IRDTP KKU. The activity focused on developing computational thinking skills through hands-on, unplugged activities, aiming to help students recognize its application in the digital classroom.

The program continued on September 3, 2025, with two distinct sessions:
Morning Session: Professor Dr. Roberto Araya and Assistant Professor Dr. Narumon Changsri conducted an Unplugged Computational Thinking workshop for 80 fifth-grade students from Banthum (Thumprachanukroh) School in Khon Kaen Province.
Afternoon Session: Professor Dr. Masami Isoda, Adjunct Professor in the Mathematics Education Program at Khon Kaen University's Faculty of Education, and Mr. Uk Inprasitha, an Specialist in Teaching Profession and Educational Staff Development at IRDTP KKU, led a Mathematical Thinking workshop. This session, attended by 40 seventh-grade students from BanPhai School in Khon Kaen Province, utilized problem-solving scenarios such as Amida Kuji and the Tower of Hanoi.

These activities were designed to strengthen mathematical thinking skills through engaging problem-solving situations that emphasize participation, critical thinking, and systemic approaches.
