     Institute Research and Development for Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University is one of the four partners participates in the “Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher Pilot Project)”. The SEA-Teacher Pilot Project is supported by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization SEAMEO to “Revitalizing Teacher Education” as one of the seven priority areas to improve the quality in Southeast Asia. The project is initially led by the University of Tsukuba, Japan together with the other three universities in Southeast Asia, namely IRDTP, Khon Kaen University of Thailand, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia of Indonesia, and Central Luzon State University of the Philippines. The project aims to provide the opportunity for pre-service student teachers from the four universities to do their practicum or teaching experiences in schools of other countries in Southeast Asia. The duration is for one month and is based on the mechanism of cost-sharing basis. Students’ roles and responsibilities are assigned weekly during the one-month period. Moreover, the host universities will provide mentors to supervise and monitor the students throughout the practicum period.

    To provide opportunities for students who participate in the project, not just student teachers. But students in other subjects can also join the program to improve their English language skills. and practice teaching experience in various disciplines at participating foreign universities and for students to gain experience and apply it to their own teaching in the future
    Therefore, in the 2019 academic year, the University of Tsukuba Teaching Profession Research and Development Institute for ASEAN Khon Kaen University, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) and Central Luson State University (CLSU) therefore cooperate in organizing a pilot project to exchange pre-service student teacher exchange in Southeast Asia (SEA-Teacher Pilot Project) between 4 countries, consisting of Thailand, Japan Indonesia and the Philippines The students participating in the program will improve their English language skills. and practicing teaching experience in various fields at participating foreign universities for a period of 1 month between 6 February – 6 March 2020
