On January 20, 2025, the Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN (IRDTP), Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assistant Professor Dr. Phongthanat Sae-joo, Director of the Institute, and the administrative team, welcomed an exchange student from the University of Tsukuba (UT), Japan: Mr. Numata Haruki – 2nd-year student, College of Education, School of Human Science, University of Tsukuba.

This exchange program aims to promote learning and professional development in education, particularly in Japanese language teaching. Mr. Haruki is participating in this program at IRDTP and Khon Kaen University Demonstration School (Mo Din Daeng Campus) from January 19 to February 3, 2025.

In addition to academic studies, the exchange student engaged in cultural exchange activities with undergraduate students majoring in Japanese language education at KKU’s Faculty of Education. This opportunity enables KKU students to gain a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and language from a native speaker. It also enhances their teaching skills and prepares them for future careers as Japanese language educators.
