Major work outcomes of Khon Kaen University
1. Open Local Governance
The College of Local Administration organized a workshop on “Open Local Governance” for the local administrators and all personnel involved directly or indirectly with local administration, during 5-6 March 2019, in Loei Province. The workshop aimed to make them aware of the transparency an organization should have in their operation and administration. They also should be familiar with the evaluation process and criteria used in the evaluation of virtue and transparency.
2. Isan Anti-corruption in Education Network
Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences organized a workshop on “Corruption in Education” for administrators, teachers, and people involving in education, including government officers responsible for anti-corruption functions and community network. The event was at the Office of the President on December 15, 2019. At the end, the “Isan Anti-corruption in Education Network” was established to be a corruption watch dog with the hope to reduce corruption in education and increase the number of networks to cover every province of the Northeast. The network aims to implant the attitude” Growing without Cheating” to all school children and support “Decent people fight back the Corruption” Networks.
3. Promoting Virtue and Ethics in Students 2019
Personnel from KKU was invited to be a key–speaker in a training session for Mae Jo freshmen on virtue and ethics at Mae Jo University under the title “I say No to Corruption”. The “I say No to Corruption” attitude first started at KKU from the cooperation with UDNP and other universities in the network. It has been disseminated to many institutions since 2012. The concept stems from the idea that corruption degrade and hinder development of society and has been so deep rooted. The only way to get rid of corruption has to come from self initiative and awareness of individuals by not being a part of it and voice out to eliminate corruption. The training session aimed to do just that, giving students both hard and soft skills.
4. Anti-Corruption Announcement
To be complied with the operation procedure of the government in the Integrity & transparency Assessment which stated that an institution must operate according to the guideline in the “Open Data Integrity & Transparency Assessment, the Announcement 985/2562 dated April 9, 2019 was made stating KKU determination to anti corruption of all forms.
5. “Anti-corruption” an Oath from the President
On April 22, 2019 at the Office of the President, Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D, KKU President gave an Oath of Anti-Corruption in the Meeting No. 6/2562 of KKU Administrative Committee stating his anti-corruption determination and promise to adhere to Good Governance for his administration.
6. Elevating the Integrity and Transparency of The College of Local Administration
To elevate the Integrity and Transparency of The College of Local Administration, a workshop was organized by the college at Kosa Hotel, during 15-16 January. Its aims are to standardize the desired characters of the institution.
