IRDTP for ASEAN, Khon Kaen University’s Performance on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 4)

   June 4, 2023 – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has actively helped to frame the Education 2030 agenda which is encapsulated in SDG 4. The Incheon Declaration, adopted at the World Education Forum in Korea in May 2015, entrusted UNESCO to lead and coordinate Education 2030 through guidance and technical support within the overall SDG agenda. Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings are used to evaluate universities’ performance based on their contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

   The IRDTP for ASEAN, as one of the institutes attached to Khon Kaen University is actively working towards achieving SDG 4, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education for all. In the Report of 2023 THE Impact Rankings, Khon Kaen University is ranked first and 33rd at national and global levels respectively. Moreover, Khon Kaen University as one of Thailand’s comprehensive universities, is ranked 97th at global level, therefore, it is recognized the importance of education in sustainable development and has been taken various initiatives to contribute to all SDGs. Specifically, Khon Kaen University has been ranked in the Top 10 at global level in the following SDGs, namely SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 4: Quality Education.
